Good morning everyone!

My name is Jie Lidi. Today, my topic is: “Confidence”. As we all know, failure is the mother of success. But What I want to say is that success is the child of confidence. Without confidence, things can become negative and uncomfortable. I remember, during an English class, I wanted to make a sentence using the word "listen". I should have said: "I listen to the Voice of America" but I was too nervous and said "I listen to the Noise of America". Everybody in the class laughed. Since then I wanted to train myself to be confident. Now, confidence makes me brave and courageous. Take this speech for example. I wanted to enter this competition, but I would feel very embarrassed if I made mistakes. Just then, I thought about my dream. My dream is to become a scientist when I grow up. If I am not confident, how can I overcome difficulties I face? If I am not confident, how can I succeed in developing myself in the future? I will do it! Today, I am making a speech in public and I feel proud and confident!

I am sure, in the future, with confidence, I will go forward-always forward. Confidence will make my dreams come true!

I have a wonderful dream in my heart。 It's to speak English very well。Since English is everything for me。 English is my best friend.English is mysoul。 English is my power。 Without English，I'm nothing at all。 Nothing。 Now，Ican think in English，speak in English，and write in English. Some people thinkI'm an Indian。 Some people regard I'm a Pakistan. And some people even considerthat I'm an Egyptian. But if I could speak English as good as an American，myfuture would be brilliant. So I work very hard.

高中英语学科的高手历来都具备以下四大特征：

一、词汇量比一般学生大，语言知识（习惯用法）积累够多。

二、语法基础过硬，并且在阅读能中敏锐地发现语法知识和语言知识。

三、听说能力很强。

四、善于捕捉机会用英语表达自己，有良好的英语思维习惯。

英语是一门工具学科，其重点不在于要从老师那里学到多少有关英语的知识，而在于在老师的指导和帮助下，练就一套扎实过硬的听说读写能力和探究英语语言规律的能力。作为刚跨进高中大门的一年级的新生，不宜仅停留和满足于初中英语学习中所形成的一些学习方式。过去的学习方式需要发展、改进和完善。英语学习是在一系列活动中完成的。这些活动应该组成一个完整的系统。在构建自己的英语学习系统中，一定要从听、说、读和写四大技能方面考虑。

能听懂他人比较纯正的英语，不仅是英语考试的需要，也是同学们未来步入社会，施展才能所必需的技能。我们平时的听力训练不仅仅是在训练你的英语听力，其实它也是一种语感培养，充足的英语听力训练同时也会极大的有助于提高学习者的口语能力。鉴于同学们不可能自己抽出多少时间去听英语歌曲、看英文电影或者直接用英语与人口头交流，那么，充分利用好本年级统一的听力训练时间就显得尤其重要。在听力训练中，既要学会抓关键词，也要学会听懂完整的句子；既要学会听懂不同语音语调对语意的影响，也要学会听懂有失去爆破和连读现象的句子。有难度的听力训练试题最好是能在过了一段时间后，等到忘记得差不多时，有再听一次的机会。所以在做听力训练试题时，我建议同学们一律用铅笔做记号，对完答案、看完录音文字材料后再把铅笔痕迹察掉。

英语的口头表达能力虽然不是我们考试的必备能力，但它却是同学们将来所需要的最重要的，最实用的英语技能。一口流利的英语是每一个英语学习者所梦想达到的理想水平。重视口语能力的训练不仅对未来有重要意义，对提高同学们高中阶段的英语水平也有非常重要的意义。说英语就是运用英语。语言能力和语言知识，同许多其它能力和知识一样，只有通过运用，并且经常运用才会真正地学到手，学到家。英语是一门语言。语言是听出来的，是经过不断模仿后才能说出来的。高中生的英语口语能力要求，除了一般日常交际应答以外，还应该具备能连续表达含五个以上的句子。练就一口流畅的英语口语需要同学们抓住三个机会：一是课堂上老师为同学们提供的开口机会。二是课前演讲或者值日报告的机会。三是早读是个好机会。早读不应该总是停 ……此处隐藏3124个字……ursday our school was tackling something about woking fou study. i wanted to have a try even though i knew the salary was so low and i had little chance,because the students who had the certificate were always thought to have priority to get the job. fortunately i was called at noon and a teacher said to me that she wanted me to work for her and asked if i could change my mind.

At that moment i was so excited that immediately i accepted her idea. but later on,she found me that i"m not a student,so i had little chance and suggest me to get one. then an idea occurred to me that i could call my father and ask him to send me the letter. at the same time i was told that i was admitted to the job and don"t need the certificate. that time i forgot to remind my father,until the next day he called me that he had posted it and it would arrive in just one day.

At that moment i was moved, and even moved into tears, because i knew my father was injured not long before,the process of helping me with the affairs was not so convenient for him. but he tried his best to help me. sometimes we may complain about unsatisfying things around us,and blame them on our parents,sometimes they"ll be angry with us, and sometimes we can"t quite understand what they are thinking about. but on balance, almost every parent is selfless to his or her child.

They are ready to offer everything to us when we are in bad situation. we used to sharing sorrow with them,but do not forget to share our happiness with them, perhaps they will be much happier than we are. so from now on, let"s care more about our parents and do not leave pity to them. that"s what i want to tell you today. thank you!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Good morning! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech.

Man’s life is a process of growing up, actually I’m standing here is a growth. If a person’s life must constituted by various choices, then I grow up along with these choices. Once I hope I can study in a college in future, however that’s passed, as you know I come here, now I wonder what the future holds for me.

When I come to this school, I told to myself: this my near future, all starts here. Following I will learn to become a man, a integrated man, who has a fine body, can take on important task, has independent thought, an open mind, intensive thought, has the ability to judge right and wrong, has a perfect job.

Once my teacher said :” you are not sewing, you are stylist; never forget which you should lay out to people is your thought, not craft.” I will put my personality with my interest and ability into my study, during these process I will combine learning with doing. If I can achieve this “future”, I think that I really grow up. And I deeply believe kindred, good-fellowship and love will perfection and happy in the future.

How to say future? Maybe it’s a nice wish. Lets make up our minds, stick to it and surely well enjoy our life.
